Provides rides for any purpose, as long as you meet one of the following criteria: you are 60+ years old, or you have a disability.
Dial-A-Ride is a convenient transportation program designed for older adults who may have difficulty accessing traditional public transportation. With Dial-A-Ride, riders can enjoy curb-to-curb transportation via a van, ensuring a comfortable and reliable way to get around town.
To utilize this program, riders can purchase tickets for just $0.50 each from the Town Clerk's Office, with a limit of 20 tickets ($10) per month. Scheduling rides in advance is required, typically a few days prior, to ensure a smooth and efficient service. For added convenience, riders have the option to pre-pay for their trips, saving time and hassle.
One of the key highlights of the Dial-A-Ride program is its accommodation of service animals, allowing riders to bring their furry companions along for the journey. This service not only provides essential transportation for older adults but also promotes independence and community engagement. Whether it's a trip to the grocery store, a medical appointment, or a social visit, Dial-A-Ride offers a valuable resource for older adults seeking affordable and accessible transportation options.
