Provides rides for only the following purposes: necessary errands, medical appointments, or grocery shopping. Also, you must meet at least one of these criteria: you are 60+ years old, you have a disability, or you have no other means of transportation. No membership is required.
The Volunteer Transportation program offers a valuable service for older adults who need assistance getting to their appointments or running errands. Through this program, older adults can access transportation via car, ensuring they can maintain their independence and access necessary services and activities. One significant benefit of this program is that it is free of charge, providing a cost-effective transportation solution for those on a fixed budget.
To utilize the Volunteer Transportation program, older adults simply need to schedule their rides a few days in advance, allowing for proper coordination and ensuring that a volunteer driver is available to assist them. This advance scheduling also helps older adults plan their activities with peace of mind, knowing they have reliable transportation to rely on. Whether heading to a medical appointment, picking up groceries, or attending a social event, older adults can count on the Volunteer Transportation program to help them get where they need to go.
