Provides rides for only the following purposes: medical appointments. Also, you must meet at least one of these criteria: you are 60+ years old, or you have a disability. No membership is required.
The Boston/Peabody mediMeVa program offers older adults an affordable and convenient public transit option for their transportation needs. Participants can enjoy a one-way fare of $8.00 or a round trip for $16, payable either by cash or check. The program utilizes buses, trains, and vans to provide shared rides, ensuring a cost-effective and environmentally friendly way to travel around the area.
To make use of this program, older adults are encouraged to schedule their rides at least one week in advance, with reservations accepted up to 14 days before the intended travel date. This advance notice helps to secure curb-to-curb transportation services, allowing participants to move safely from their starting point to their destination with ease and peace of mind. By offering a reliable and accessible transportation option, the Boston/Peabody mediMeVa program aims to support older adults in maintaining their independence and staying connected to their community.
