The Call-A-Ride Service (C.A.R.) is a convenient transportation program designed for older adults. This service offers transportation via taxi, allowing riders to travel in comfort and ease. To access this program, riders simply need to pay a fixed fee of $3.00 per trip, with the additional benefit of the MTA covering costs up to $40.00 for each journey. In cases where the fare exceeds $40.00, riders are only responsible for the amount exceeding this limit. For example, if the fare totals $45.00, the rider would pay the $3.00 Call-A-Ride fee plus the extra $5.00 for a total of $8.00.
Individuals utilizing the Call-A-Ride Service are required to schedule their transportation a few days in advance, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs. Payment is flexible and can be made via check or cash, providing riders with various payment options. Moreover, this program offers the convenience of shared rides, allowing multiple passengers to travel together. Additionally, Call-A-Ride service provides curb-to-curb transportation, further enhancing the accessibility and convenience of this beneficial program for older adults.
Service Area
Ride must start and end within MTA mobility/Paratransit service area (Within 3/4 of a mile of any fixed route service in Baltimore and Anne Arundel Counties). Trips to Carroll, Harford, and Howard counties are not in the MTA Mobility Service Area and are NOT ELIGIBLE.
