Please make sure to contact CCT Central Community Transit: Senior Transportation to confirm details of their transportation services.
Provides rides for only the following purposes: necessary errands, medical appointments, or grocery shopping. Also, you must meet at least one of these criteria: you are 60+ years old. No membership is required.
The Senior Transportation program offers a convenient and affordable public transit option for older adults in the community. This program operates with a flat fee structure, where riders are charged based on the distance of their trip. For in-town rides covering under 4 miles, the cost is $3.00 one way or $6.00 for a round trip (under 8 miles). Longer out-of-town trips are charged according to the current federal mileage reimbursement rate.
To use this program, older adults can schedule their rides in advance, typically requiring a few days' notice. Upon booking, the program's staff will assist in determining the cost-share contribution based on a predetermined scale. Volunteer drivers provide the transportation services and collect these contributions, which can be returned directly to the driver or mailed to the program office.
For added convenience, pre-payment options are available, and riders are billed based on the actual mileage traveled. By utilizing the Senior Transportation program, older adults can access reliable transportation services tailored to their needs and enjoy peace of mind when traveling within or outside the town limits.
