Please make sure to contact Bertie County Council on Aging Senior Center: Senior Transportation to confirm details of their transportation services.
Provides rides for only the following purposes: necessary errands, medical appointments, or grocery shopping. Also, you must meet at least one of these criteria: you are 60+ years old. No membership is required.
The Senior Transportation program is a wonderful service available to older adults in our community. This service operates on a donation basis, with a suggested contribution of $1 per one-way trip. Through this program, older adults can access transportation options such as bus or train services, as well as shared van rides. To utilize this service, riders are asked to schedule their trips a few days in advance to ensure availability.
One of the key features of the Senior Transportation program is its curb-to-curb service, which means that older adults will be picked up and dropped off directly at their desired locations. The program strives to make transportation accessible and convenient for older adults who may face challenges in getting around independently. By providing this service free of charge and relying on donations, the program aims to support older adults in maintaining their independence and staying connected to their community. If you are an older adult in need of transportation assistance, the Senior Transportation program is here to help you get where you need to go.
