This program is designed to assist individuals in getting to and from medical appointments, hospital discharges, and other healthcare-related destinations. Riders can expect professional transportation services provided by vans, ensuring a comfortable and safe journey. To use this program, riders need to schedule their rides in advance, ideally a few days before their appointment. The program accepts insurance payments and provides transparent pricing based on the type of transportation needed. For ambulatory individuals, the cost is $20.00 for the first 5 miles, with an additional $2.00 per mile after that. For those requiring a wheelchair, the cost is $27.50 for the first 5 miles, with an extra $2.50 per mile thereafter. For hospital discharges, the price is $37.50 for the initial 5 miles, and $2.50 per mile beyond that. Conveniently, payment options include credit cards for ease of transaction. By utilizing the Non-Emergency Transportation program, older adults can ensure they have a reliable means of transportation to their healthcare appointments, promoting their well-being and independence.
