Provides rides for any purpose, to all people, and no membership is required.
The Rural Public Transit program offers a convenient transportation option for older adults living in rural areas. This program functions as a public transit service, providing rides via bus or train, as well as shared van transportation. To utilize this service, older adults must schedule their rides at least a day in advance, allowing for proper coordination of transportation needs. Payment for rides can be made by check or in cash, offering flexibility in payment options.
One of the key features of the Rural Public Transit program is its curb-to-curb transportation service, ensuring that older adults are safely transported from their pickup location to their destination. By providing this vital transportation service, the program enables older adults in rural communities to access essential services, attend social engagements, and maintain their independence. Scheduling rides a few days in advance allows for efficient planning and ensures that older adults can rely on this program for their transportation needs.
