Provides rides for any purpose, as long as you meet one of the following criteria: you have a disability.
Paratransit is a transportation program designed to provide convenient and accessible transit options for individuals with disabilities or other challenges that may make using traditional bus or train services difficult. This program offers door-to-door transportation services, ensuring that older adults can travel safely and comfortably from their pick-up location to their destination. Riders can schedule their rides in advance, typically a few days prior, allowing for better planning and coordination of transportation needs.
A unique feature of the Paratransit program is the provision of shared rides, which not only promotes social interactions within the community but also helps reduce the environmental impact by minimizing the number of vehicles on the road. The program is currently offering free fares until September 2026, making it even more affordable and accessible for older adults who rely on this service. Whether it's a trip to the grocery store, a medical appointment, or a social outing, Paratransit ensures that older adults can maintain their independence and mobility without the burden of transportation costs.
Service Area
Paratransit operates on the same days and hours as regular bus service. Trips must start and finish within the Paratransit service area. The service covers the municipal boundaries of Hinesville, Walthourville, and Flemington, as well as within 3/4 mile of the regular bus routes in Allenhurst, Fort Stewart, Long, and Liberty Counties.
