Demand Response Service is a public transit program that offers transportation services for older adults. This program allows riders to donate a suggested fare, with pricing set at $2.00 for rides within an eight-mile radius from Preston and $8.00 for trips outside of this area but still within Franklin County. For longer trips outside of Franklin County, there is a fare of $4.00 plus $1.00 per mile. Riders can also inquire about individual trips leaving Franklin County by contacting PRT for more information. To utilize this program, older adults can schedule shared rides via bus or train a few days in advance, providing flexibility for their transportation needs. Payment is accepted in cash, and the program offers curb-to-curb transportation services for added convenience and accessibility.
