The Public Transit program offers transportation services specifically designed to meet the needs of individuals seeking a convenient and reliable way to travel within the community. With a flat fee structure of $1.50 for standard fare and $0.85 for senior/disabled fare per one-way trip, passengers can enjoy a cost-effective way to access essential services, visit family and friends, attend appointments, or simply explore the city.
Passengers can choose from multiple ticket options, including ticket booklets, and have the flexibility to pay for rides using various methods such as cash, check, or pre-payment. The program operates on fixed routes, providing shared rides on a fixed schedule, ensuring that passengers reach their destinations efficiently. Additionally, the program offers curb-to-curb transportation, making it easier for older adults to access the service without having to worry about navigating unfamiliar areas.
Most notably, the Public Transit program is inclusive of individuals with service animals, allowing older adults to travel with their furry companions without any restrictions. By offering a comprehensive range of features and services, this program aims to enhance the mobility and independence of older adults within the community.
