The HARTS Fare Program offers affordable transportation services for individuals in Hillsboro and surrounding areas who are aged 55 and over, as well as those who are physically disabled. Residents aged 55 and over or with physical disabilities can avail of one-way trips for $2, while those under 55 years old are charged $4 per trip. For individuals living within 5 miles of downtown Hillsboro, the fare is set at $5 per one-way trip, while riders residing more than 5 miles away will have a per-mile fare calculated by FRS. Children under 18 can ride for free when accompanied by a parent or guardian. To use the service, riders must schedule their trips in advance, with the option to pay by check, cash, or prepayment. The transportation is provided through vans, and riders are charged based on the distance traveled. The program offers both door-to-door and curb-to-curb transportation for the convenience of older adults and individuals with disabilities in the community.
