Provides rides for only the following purposes: necessary errands, or grocery shopping. Also, you must meet at least one of these criteria: you are 60+ years old, or you have a disability. No membership is required.
The Shopping Bus program offers affordable transportation for older adults who enjoy shopping at various locations. For a flat fee of $5.00 per round trip, participants can access bus or train transportation services along fixed routes. To utilize this program, individuals must schedule their rides a few days in advance, providing flexibility and convenience for planning shopping trips. Payment options include checks and cash, accommodating different preferences.
This program aims to empower older adults by providing transportation to popular shopping destinations such as Baraboo Walmart, Madison West Towne Mall, Lake Delton Walmart, Madison East Towne Mall, and occasionally Portage Walmart. During these bus shopping trips, central stops are available, from which passengers can request to be taken to other shopping locations within a reasonable radius. This service ensures curb-to-curb transportation, prioritizing passenger comfort and convenience. By offering a variety of shopping options and flexible payment methods, the Shopping Bus program aims to enhance older adults' independence and freedom in choosing where they shop.
